Whole Life Elevation Backpacking Trip Policies
To help create a safe, supportive, and fulfilling experience for everyone, we ask all participants to review and agree to the following policies before registering for a backpacking trip. These guidelines reflect our commitment to group cohesion, personal responsibility, and the realities of wilderness travel.
Remote Wilderness Setting
Our trips take place in remote wilderness areas where emergency medical care may be several hours away. There is typically no cell service, and evacuation can be physically demanding. Please be aware of the risks involved and ensure you are physically and mentally prepared for the demands of backcountry travel.
Participant Responsibility
Physical Preparation: You are responsible for training and preparing for the trip. Review the trip details and commit to the training guidelines.
Honest Self-Assessment: Please represent your physical condition and outdoor experience honestly in your application. If you are unsure whether you’re ready, reach out—we’re happy to help you assess and prepare.
Mental Readiness: Our trips can have strenuous sections, minimal comforts, and unpredictable elements. Resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude are essential.
No Early Exits
Because of our remote locations, leaving a trip early is not possible except in the case of a medical emergency. If you commit to a trip, plan to participate in the full experience.
Group Support and Participation
These are community-based trips. Everyone is expected to:
Help set up and break down camp
Participate in shared tasks (like filtering water, gathering firewood, cleaning up)
Be respectful and supportive of fellow participants
Contribute to a positive group dynamic
Substance-Free Experience
All Whole Life Elevation trips are drug- and alcohol-free experiences. Use of recreational drugs or alcohol during the trip is not permitted. This helps ensure safety, clarity, and a grounded group experience in nature.
Safety and Group Integrity
Whole Life Elevation reserves the right to decline participation or remove any individual from a trip—before or during the trip—if their presence is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or misaligned with the spirit of the experience. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
Application Review
Applications are reviewed to ensure each trip is a good fit for both the individual and the group. We may follow up with additional questions or a brief call if needed. If a trip doesn’t seem like the right fit at this time, we’re happy to suggest alternative ways to engage.
Questions?
We’re here to support your journey into nature. If you have any questions or concerns about readiness, gear, or expectations, please don’t hesitate to reach out before applying.
