The Boundary Waters is one of the most beautiful and unique wilderness areas in the world. The 4 night/5 day trip offers an ideal introduction to paddling, backcountry camping, team-building, and unwinding from typical our responsibilities. The journey is designed to balance activity and challenge with connection and rejuvenation. Nature itself reduces stress, balances emotions, and makes us more creative.

About the Wilderness Experience:


-4 nights/5 days (first night in bunkhouse and 3 nights camping in the wilderness)

-Paddling and backcountry camping instruction by expert guide Lisa Pugh includes local plant education & uses

-Daily yoga to balance the body and inspire the heart

-Intention, reflection, team-building, and gratitude ceremony integrated into the experience to create a cohesive experience

-Practice caring for the body, mind, and spirit throughout the journey


-Guided instruction for tapping into the healing qualities of nature with Laura Adrian

-Nutritious meals which feature local foods & quality ingredients backcountry meals fused with gourmet style cooking. We can accommodate food allergies (check with us before registering if this is important to you)

-Intimate group of 7 participants which helps to create a supportive space and opportunity make new friends!

-No experience necessary but a minimum level of health and fitness is required to participate. If you have doubts or concerns that may limit your ability to fully participate contact us prior to registration.

Laura Adrian is a multi-modal healer, spiritual explorer, and forever a student of life. Her aim is to support people on their paths to uncover their power and passion through practices that are non-harming, empowering, and fun. Lisa Pugh is an explorer, outdoor educator, speaker, and writer. As a wilderness instructor with over 700 days of backcountry experience leading canoeing, kayaking, dog sledding and cross-country ski expeditions, Lisa has made a life on water – frozen or not - her passion, playground,home, and office. Through her work in the backcountry, Lisa has connected with her healer abilities using challenge, time in nature, and self-reflection as mediums for deep growth. She has supported hundreds of people on their journeys of self-discovery, self-mastery, and purpose through facilitated wilderness experiences and what she refers to as “natural empowerment”. Lisa is a certified Wilderness First Responder and has extensive water safety and rescue training.

In 2016, Lisa and a friend became the first woman/non-binary canoe expedition of the Missouri and Mississippi River system from source to sea. This 200-day, 4,000-mile expedition was an exploration of the confidence-building process and a deeply transformative experience. Following the expedition, Lisa went back to her home in Ely, Mn and helped open a comprehensive wellness center while deepening her study of healing herbs and plants as an herbal apprentice. She is currently doing full-time science and policy work for a non-profit centered on wilderness protection and is still leading wilderness expeditions and playing guitar in her spare time.

Wilderness Experience Includes:


-All gear (packs, cookware, tents, canoe rental etc).   You will need to bring a sleeping bag and sleeping pad

-1 night at bunkhouse + 3 nights in the BWCA

-Quality meals & snacks (Friday morning breakfast to Monday lunch)

-Daily yoga & group programs

-Time to explore, rest, rejuvenate, and just be in nature!


-Expert guide with 5+ years of BWCA guiding experience with ACA training & Wilderness First Responder certification

-Paddling and backcountry safety and instruction

-Virtual meeting Tuesday, July 30th 8pm to meet participants and review important trip information

Note: Tents are typically shared with 1-2 people.  If this is an issue for you please contact Laura prior to registration.

What if I'm new to camping/outdoor adventure?

No need to have prior experience with outdoor adventure/wilderness.  This trip is 'beginner friendly' and we'll walk you through preparing step-by-step. A can-do attitude is essential!

2) You will receive a welcome email regarding trip specifics, how to prepare, and plan.  Laura and Lisa will be available for pre-trip questions. 

3) Expect pre-trip communication including packing lists, virtual meetings, and additional information to assist you in preparing for the expedition. 

Cancellation Policy:

Due to the nature of this event $250 deposits are non-refundable.  If cancellation is made before July 21st, a refund will be issued for the amount paid less the deposit.

Deposits (and fees if applicable) are transferrable to a new participant if cancellation is made by July 21st.

In the event of severe weather, the guides will provide alternatives to ensure the safety of participants.

We encourage you to purchase trip insurance if you think you may need to cancel at some point.

In the case of adverse conditions Whole Life Elevation may modify the itinerary for the safety of the group. If we decide to cancel (which would be very rare) we would offer a full refund.
