What is CranioSacral Therapy?
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, noninvasive, hands-on therapy which works at rebalancing and releasing tension patterns in the central nervous system and the muscle systems.
Who is CranioSacral Therapy for?
My clients typically fall into at least one of these four types of people:
-Naturalists. People who want natural solutions for the body, mind and spirit. CranioSacral Therapy may be an alternative to surgery, chiropractic work, and/or medication. No scary side effects.
-Lovers of transformation. People who are already onboard with their path and want to move to the next level of health and happiness are a perfect fit for this therapy!
-Seekers of pain relief. When physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, and medication do not work people have seen results with CranioSacral Therapy.
-Those seeking relief from depression and anxiety. People who seek relief from depression, anxiety, and stress benefit from CranioSacral Therapy. It works by deeply relaxing the muscles and rewiring the nervous system. This is what makes the therapy so unique, you are actually changing how the mind responds to stress!
Here's a list of some things I can help with:
Diet (food addiction, guilt, binge eating etc)
Confidence and Self acceptance
A New Way of Healing
CranioSacral Therapy is more than a healing modality it is a healing philosophy. As CranioSacral Therapists we believe:
- The body is self healing
- The therapist is a resource to assist in restoring balance in the body
- In empowering clients by teaching them tools and techniques to improve and maintain health and well-being
- In using the minimum amount of intervention to release
- That awareness and healing support one another
Based in Science......
It originated from the osteopathy and involves movement of cerebrospinal fluid from the cranium to the sacrum, which bathes the nervous system and the brain restoring balance between the parasympathetic (rest and digest) and the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight response). During a session, the client experiences a deep sense of relaxation, that similar to meditation. In this deeply relaxed state, the body wisdom is able to communicate its vital needs to the trained therapist, who works either silently or with dialogue to release old patterns of pain, emotion, or strain in the body. In this way the client is able to “let go” intrinsically into optimal wellness.
Sometimes it is important to explore tissue memory and the history of the body, Dialogue and imagery allows the client to enter into a light trance state of relaxation, to access the body’s cellular memory. The body remembers what the mind forgets and in this way significant events may hold the key to the reparative powers of the body. Therapist and client work together to co-create and discover what the person most needs on their healing journey.
